Alexander E. Kalamaros

Senior Urban Planner

Alexander E. Kalamaros is a senior planning and development professional whose experience spans the realm of public and private practice and academia. With a focus on large-scale sustainable urban development and real estate project management, Alexander brings over 20 years work experience and proven leadership skills on multidisciplinary project teams. His dissertation, Matching Large Scale Real Estate Project Objectives to Principles of Sustainable Development, is the product of nearly a decade of research on strategies for integrating economic viability with long-term environmental planning and intergenerational values.

Alexander has worked on the planning and development of master planned communities in public-private partnerships and in the nonprofit sector, including the planning, development, management and administration of large-scale urban redevelopment programs of high-revenue generating ground leases. He has worked in the non-profit sector observing and promoting energy efficiencies, on sustainability and smart growth development initiatives in planned communities, and in various parts of the real estate sector for more than a decade, including investment brokerage and management. Alexander holds a doctorate in planning and development and is an AICP certified planner. He holds masters degrees in real estate development and business administration and is an active participant in ongoing professional development, including the 2005 World Cities Forum sponsored by the Urban Land Institute.
